orphanage Description:
The Yangjiang orphanage complex has a large red brick building at the front which houses the administration offices. To the rear is a white, three-story building that welcomes you with the words, "Love has No Borders". On the second floor of this building is a single, large baby room. As you walk in the front door, directly in front of you is a 6 by 15' gated play area. The gate is a children's gate made of bright polished stainless steel. Also in this large room are about 21 stainless-steel cribs, with one child in each crib.

The orphanage is located in the old part of town (Jiangcheng District), near a large park (Zhongshan Park). The vast majority of children are found in the area immediately around the orphanage, including restaurants, water plants, factories, etc.

Misc. Information:
Yangjiang City is 447 kilometers from Guangzhou in southwest Guangdong Province. There are 2.5 million people in the city area, which includes 39 towns and two counties: Yangdong and Yangxi. It is located on the South China Sea. The city is divided in half by the Moyanggjiang River. The orphanage is located in the Jiangcheng District of Yangjiang.

Prominent crops in the area include rice, sugar cane, and tea oil. Peacock rock is a dark green rock made into jewelry. This rock is found only in this area.

Average temperature is 23 degrees Celsius (January 14 degrees, July 28 degrees). Yangjiang is famous for its sword and cutlery industry mad eof high-quality stainless steel. Yangjiang is also the largest production area for fruit jelly and pudding in Southeast Asia. It is designated as the "National Hometown of Kites."

Tourist destinations include Hailing Island's Dajiaowan Bay, a 4-A resort area. There are also many temples and lakes in and around Yangjiang City.
